DanceXplosion and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats joined forces two months ago to create a new and exciting dance academy which has proved to be a huge success.

Dance classes by DanceXplosion owner Jodie Travis are held every Tuesday evening for Children 3 years and above at Belle Vue Stadium. Over 50 children have already signed up for the weekly classes with the opportunity to be a part of the match day experience here at the Wildcats.

Within January, Jodie has also taken DanceXplosion into Wakefield schools to deliver a six week Street Dance Program, highlighting a fun way of keeping active to over 150 pupils. Once these workshops have been completed, there will be a celebration assembly where the participants will perform their work and receive a free Wakefield Trinity Wildcats season ticket and a DanceXplosion certificate. Many children have already signed up to perform their routine at Belle Vue stadium on Sunday 6th March when Wakefield Trinity Wildcats take on Catalan Dragons.

DanceXplosion coach Jodie Travis said “It’s fantastic that so many children are attending DanceXplosion classes on a weekly basis. They’re all working incredibly hard to prepare for their first ever DanceXplosion performance on 6th March. It’s so lovely to be back delivering dance again, on behalf of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, in Wakefield schools with so many talented youngsters. I’m very much looking forward to seeing them all showcase their skills at the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats V Catalans match.”

Claire Horner from The Mount J, I and Nursery school added “Jodie has been teaching 40 children from age 4-11 on a weekly basis at an after school club. The children are kept motivated and inspired throughout. Her expertise and professional attitude is exemplary. The children are looking forward to performing their routine at the dance festival at Wakefield Wildcats on 6th March.”

DanceXplosion will also be holding several one day holiday camps during the Easter Holidays. These will run from the stadium on 23rd, 24th, 30th and 31st March. Children can attend one or more of these dates where they will learn choreography that will be performed in front of the crowds at a Wakefield Trinity Wildcats fixture.

If your child is interested in taking part in the dance classes held on Tuesday evening, the Easter Camp or if your schools are interested in DanceXplosion delivering their six week Street Dance program, please contact Jodie Travis on DanceXplosion2016@yahoo.co.uk.
