Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are thrilled to announce the re-launch of the award-winning Embed the Pathway programme at the club on Thursday 28th April from 4pm.
The re-launch will consist of a 45 minute presentation which includes a talk from Head Coach, Chris Chester, Chairman, Michael Carter and two coaching workshops.
The player development and coach education programme aims to increase the number of quality 12-14 year old Rugby League players through the education and training of coaches, and this session provides a unique and fantastic opportunity for coaches and teachers within our schools and communities to develop their coaching skills at a Super League club.
The Wildcats echo the belief’s of the RFL’s Performance Department that every young player aged 12 and over is on the England Talent Pathway, and as such the club’s community department is working alongside the academy department for the session, which will include a talk from first-team head coach Chris Chester.
The evening will take place in the CATS bar at the stadium, and is open to any coaches/teachers who are currently coaching players aged between U12 and U14, as well as those just looking to develop their Embed the Pathway understanding or their Coach and Player Development.
Lead Community Officer James Stephenson has said, "We are extremely pleased to be able to re launch our new look comprehensive player and coach development programme. We have recognised over the last few months that more time was required in producing our programme to give both players and coaches within this remit an experience of great quality and specific outcomes.
We cannot wait to be able to assist our community coaches and secondary school teachers with a range of planned CPD workshops including master classes from Wildcats Head Coach Chris Chester, the opportunity of all attendees to become an England player development coach .and ultimately the most important part will be the development of all players from u12s (yr 7) to u14s (yr 9) through our Embed the Pathway development plan! We have had to cap the night to just 60 places so I would urge you all to book your places quick".
