Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are pleased to announce that during the summer holidays we will be hosting two open access player development days for females from u12 (YR7) to u16 (YR11).

Based on the award winning Embed the Pathway programme, we recognise that female Rugby League is currently missing enhanced development away from the community game. We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to all female rugby league players u12 (YR7) to u16 (YR11)

The two pilot days are a non-selective open access development and you will experience high quality development coaching in a professional environment and will take place on Friday 5th August and Friday 19th August at Belle Vue Stadium.

Both days will consist of:

  • 11am - Registration
  • 11:30am - Start (Carousel skill stations)
  • 12:30pm - Field (Games)
  • 13:30pm - De-Brief
  • 14:00pm – End

Community & ETP Lead James Stephenson said “Over the last couple of years we have seen a significant rise in female participation at our community clubs and also increased publicity for the female game in general and we acknowledge the great work these clubs are doing.

“As we already offer a female programme within the local secondary schools, what we don’t offer is an opportunity for young women to experience professional development coaching within a professional environment. It makes complete sense that already having an established Embed the Pathway boys programme in place that we can now offer this opportunity for females.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing some skilled individuals and we hope that this initial pilot will continue to help the female game grow more!”
