Nearly 700 enthusiastic young people aged 6-15 have attended one our rugby league, dance or development camps this summer.
Our “Wildcats On Tour” initiative was piloted with our great ambassador clubs, these have been a great success along with our general Rugby & DanceXplosion camps that were held here at the stadium, there has been something for everybody to enjoy this summer.
Throughout the holidays we also delivered the award winning Embed the Pathway camps on a weekly basis for 12-15 year olds. We have also been able to initiate the first female development days in the country that were added to the schedule. This along with the 14 plus development days, have received recognition through the national press and our National Governing Body.
Wildcats Head of Community James Stephenson commented: “It has been an excellent summer for the community department; we have seen some record number of participants during our summer programme.
“When we initially started the planning process for the summer activities we had hoped to increase the opportunities on last year for young people, whether that be on one of our junior fun camps or our youth development days. We wanted to ensure there was something for everyone on a weekly basis held here at the stadium or out within our local community.
“I am very proud of what we have accomplished as we only have a small team to be able to deliver all of this. It is not always about quantity but for me the quality that we offer having received so much positive feedback which we will take on board that will allow us to offer improvement and even more quality to any activities & projects we will deliver in the future.
“I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all attendees, parents & volunteers who have either attended, assisted or just simply observed, without any of these people we simply wouldn’t be able to deliver!”
Keep your eyes peeled for further announcements of upcoming camps, development days and much more coming soon. If you would like further information please contact the club.
