VOICE FINALIST FRANCES WOOD TO PERFORM AT RHINOS GAME
Frances Wood, finalist in the BBC1 show ‘The Voice’, will perform at the Wildcats clash with Leeds Rhinos as Monday night rugby league comes to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium for the first time.
The Wakefield singer came to the nation’s attention when she won a place on Will.I.Am’s team for the live shows that were watched on average by around 5 million people on Saturday nights earlier this year and you can check out her first live performance by clicking HERE.
The 18-year old is now looking to use her appearance on the show as a springboard for her music career and she will sing in her home city at one of the biggest games of the season as the Wildcats welcome World Champions the Rhinos for a derby match-up.
It’s a fixture that will raise funds for Wakefield Hospice, with the Wildcats wearing a one-off shirt in the Hospice colours as opposed to their traditional red, white and blue, with £1 put on the cost of every ticket that will go direct to the charity.
The match-worn shirts will then be auctioned to raise further funds for the Hospice which is committed to providing the highest level of symptom management and care for people who have advanced active, progressive and life threatening illnesses.
The Hospice needs to raise £3.2million each year to be able to continue to provide care and support to patients and their families. As care is provided free of charge to patients, that equates to £8,767 per day.
Support the Wildcats against the Rhinos, do your bit for a local charity and see one of the countries up and coming music talents all in one place on July 30th.
Secure your place at one of the biggest home games of the season by visiting the Ridings Centre Store, the Rapid Solicitors Stadium Box Office, buying online or by calling 01924 201548.
Any supporters who pre-purchased a Wakefield Hospice charity shirt are advised that they are now available to collect from the Ridings Centre Store.
