Touch Rugby back at the Wildcats
We at the Wildcats are proud to announce that we are planning to host a summer touch rugby competition taking place at Belle Vue stadium throughout the coming summer months. The plan is for there to be 2 leagues – a Men’s Social and a Mixed social league – with games set to be played on the hallowed Wildcats turf.
Touch rugby is a great way to stay fit and to catch up with or make new friends. There is minimum risk as it is non contact and it is open to people of any age from 16 and above – with no upper age limit!
We want to target sides that are either: new to the sport: don’t currently play rugby league; or wish to compete in something that is as much for the enjoyment of taking part as it is winning. People with no experience whatsoever are more than welcome!
The competition:
Will run on a Wednesday night consecutively for 10 weeks (1st week is 21st July, last week is 22nd September)
Games will kick of at: 6.30pm; 7.15pm; and 8pm
Games last 40 minutes (20 minute halves)
The cost is £1 per person, per team, per week
League winners will receive trophies for their efforts
Your team can be made up of College friends; work mates; parents of children who play in a club team; family teams; or a mixture of any – any team that’s wishes to play can do! We have 6 places in each league available so if you’re interested get in touch ASAP as places may fill up fast!
Men’s social – squad of 10, 6 players on the field at any one time
Mixed social – squad of 10, 6 players on the field at any one time – 2 of which MUST be female (we advise having at least 3 females in your squad for rotation purposes but 2 is the absolute minimum)
