Walker Shirt Tribute
The Wakefield Wildcats Reserve Grade squad will wear the name ‘Walker’ on the back of all their shirts for the rest of the season in memory of their late teammate Leon Walker.
The pall bearers wore the shirts at Leon’s funeral in Leeds yesterday and the entire reserve team also wore them at the minute’s silence held before the first team game with St. Helens last week.
And as a tribute to the 20-year old the players and coaching staff have decided that Walker’s name will adorn the back of their shirts for the remainder of the season.
The first Reserve team fixture since Leon’s tragic passing will take place on Saturday 4th April against Bradford Bulls at Belle Vue, kick-off 2.30pm.
