WILDCATS TV: COLLIS ENCOURAGED DESPITE LOSS

Dean Collis believes the signs are good for the Wildcats despite suffering a frustrating loss to Hull KR on Sunday.

Dean Collis thought there were good signs despite going down to Hull KR.

Despite dominating possession and territory for large spells of the game it was the Robins who had the clinical edge to add to their outstanding goal line defence to claim the two points with a 22-10 success.

But speaking to Wildcats TV after the game, the Aussie centre is sure there’s encouragement to be taken from the performance.

“We had our chance and had a lot of ball in the second half on their line but we just didn’t quite come up with the result,” conceded Collis.

“Their defence was good but we pushed a few passes that weren’t on.  It wasn’t quite there in attack but the signs are good.

“We hung in there and I think in better conditions it’ll be more suited to us.

“We can take a lot of positives.  Although we’re really disappointed there’s some really good signs there.”

Thanks to the fantastic efforts of groundsman Steve Dutton and the volunteer working party the game went ahead despite freezing temperatures for much of the week and more than 8,600 fans packed into the Rapid Solicitors Stadium for the home opener.

“The atmosphere was good.  To run out here and see both sides of the field packed it was a good time.

“Unfortunately we couldn’t get the result for the fans but hopefully they take out a few positives out of it too and they’re back in a couple of weeks time.”

You can watch the full interview with Collis by clicking HERE or selecting the video tab from the Wildcats homepage.

With the round three game against Leeds Rhinos postponed due to the Champions involvement in the World Club Challenge, the Wildcats are not in action again until Saturday 25th February when they welcome Bradford Bulls.

The game is a 7.45pm kick-off with tickets on sale now in the Ridings Centre store, at the Box Office located in the Rapid Solicitors Stadium, online or by calling 01924 201548.
