Wildcat Appearances

To request an appearance by a Wildcats player please read the following guidelines and complete the downloadable request form.

Wildcats appearance guidelines

The Wildcats make appearances throughout the Wakefield area. The most common settings for appearances are schools, charity or non-profit events and business functions. Players are available for one or two-hour times periods. A one-hour appearance is preferred. Appearances within a 30 minute drive from the Wakefield area are preferred. Paid promotional appearances can vary in length but are generally no more than two hours. The Wildcats try to accommodate as many player appearance requests as possible. However, the number of requests we receive far outweighs the number of requests we are able to fill. Unfortunately we can accommodate just one appearance per organisation per year and we do request return in some form of sponsorship or contra deal

Criteria:

We want this experience to be beneficial for those involved with your event and the players, themselves. With that in mind, we ask that each appearance meet the following criteria:
Direct interaction with children or elderly
Clear role for the player at the event (read a book, autographs, photos etc.)
NO athletic functions that may cause injury to the player
Make sure the maximum number of people are influenced by the visit (ie. an entire school assembly rather than a classroom-to-classroom tour)

PLAYER AVAILABILITY

Wildcats’ players are available at two different times during the year. The best time to request a player appearance is from the start of pre-season (mid-November) to the start of the season (beginning of February). Players also make a limited number of appearances during the regular season. Please keep in mind, the players’ only day off during the season is Thursday. Players are NOT available immediately after the end of the season. Also keep in mind that many of our players live outside the Wakefield area during the off-season. This may make it difficult to get the exact player your organisation requests.

PROMOTING PLAYER APPEARANCES

The Wildcats must approve use of the Wildcats name, logos and trademarks and/or any advertising that implies the support or sponsorship of an event by Wildcats. Before promoting a Wildcats player appearance, please check with the Commercial Department for appropriate practises.

REQUESTS FOR COACHES AND STAFF

Coaches and staff also make appearances in the community but are often on a tighter schedule than the players. Please keep this in mind when submitting your request. Player appearance criteria and guidelines apply to coaches and staff as well. All appearance and speaking requests for Wildcats coaches and staff must be made in writing to Francis Stephenson, Belle Vue Stadium, Doncaster Road, Wakefield, WF1 5EY. The letter should contain all of the same information required for a player appearance.

The same guidelines apply for Daddy Cool & Dancer appearances.

Please fill in the form below to request an appearance or alternatively download the form at the bottom of the page.
