Wildcats Touch Rugby
This is the fifth year of the Wakefield Wildcats summer touch rugby and after last years success it promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Touch rugby is now considered a priority sport by the Rugby Football League (RFL) and the Wakefield Wildcats competition is one of the biggest in the north. The competition is open to anyone over the age of 16 and the rules are simple and easy to learn. The restricted physical contact makes the game suitable for both beginners and experienced players.
Each team will play in a structured league with the opportunity to play on the hallowed turf of Belle Vue Stadium and also the opportunity to take part in the touch rugby Challenge Cup tournament.
This year we will be hosting mixed sex leagues with men's, women's and serious leagues being made available subject to demand.
Touch Rugby is a minimal contact recreational sport that is about playing the game on the field and the social atmosphere afterwards; so expect a good social summer with old and new friends.
This year it’s cheaper!
Each team will consist of ten players, and a registration fee of £15 per team is required before the start of the league.
In addition to this a fee of £10 is required from each player at the first league game. This price is equivalent to £1.10 per game.
Once you have paid your £10 no further payment is required, therefore you can relax and enjoy the summer touch rugby experience.
For this price you will receive:
Eight weeks of touch rugby at a local venue
Entry into the touch rugby Challenge Cup held at Belle Vue Stadium.
