A valiant second half fightback from the Wildcats wasn't enough to seal the derby day spoils against Castleford Tigers.
Trinity trailed 22-0 heading towards the half-time interval with back-to-back tries from Lee Gilmour and Chris Riley giving James Webster's men hope for the second period.
Jake Webster scored against the run of play to extend the Tigers lead on 67 minutes before Scott Anderson and Richard Owen breathed life back into the Wildcats resurgence.
But the Tigers held on for a victory that keeps them in the hunt for the league leaders shield going into the final week and ended the Wildcats slim play-off hopes.
