Wildcats congratulate David Oxley
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are delighted to learn that David Oxley CBE has been elected as a Life Vice President of the Rugby Football League.
The former Secretary General of the RFL, David Oxley CBE is the chairman of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Community Trust.
James Elston, the Wildcats’ Chief Executive, said: “It is a richly deserved honour for David who has been a wonderful servant not only to the Wildcats but to the sport of Rugby League as a whole.
“We would like to congratulate David on behalf of the whole club and its fans.”
Ever since David stepped down as Secretary General in 1992 he has remained at the forefront of sports administration in this country. He is a member of Sport England and a former chairman of the Central Council for Physical Recreation.
He has also been prominent in several Rugby League projects, including the Student and College Rugby League. He is a member of the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Community Trust and the Leeds Foundation.
