Facilities

The 2011 Super League season will be the last one for rugby to be played at the famous old stadium, Belle Vue. The facilities at Belle Vue are greatly restricted due to the age and limitations of the building, but this will be remedied by the move to a new state of the art stadium at Newmarket.

Car Parking

Parking bays designated for Permit holders are located adjacent to the East Stand and outside of the Wildcats Shop, access via the Superbowl entrance.

A limited number of parking spaces are reserved for away disabled supporters on a first come first served basis, please contact the club at the time you purchase your match day ticket.

For those fans with a parking pass, but who are unable to attend a game, could you please contact the club at the first possible opportunity, so that the space can be utilised by another disabled supporter.

Wheelchair access

Regrettably wheelchair accessibility is very limited at the atmospheric, homely, but old Belle Vue stadium.

The following facilities are accessible:
• Wildcats Shop where goods and match tickets can be purchased
• A raised undercover viewing platform is available in the East Stand and offers a great view of the action on the field. Access to the Stand is by a ramp.
• Spaces on the raised undercover viewing platform is very limited and allocated on a first come first served basis, some are pre-booked to season ticket holders.
• An additional viewing area with designated spaces for wheelchair supporters is available pitch-side. Access to this area is at the side of Corporate hospitality lounges and sponsors hospitality suites at the rear of the Cats Bar car park
• All wheelchair spaces have an adjacent space/seat for helpers/carer.
• Main stadium reception area
• Corporate hospitality lounges in the North and stands
• Sponsors hospitality suites in the North Stand

Hearing Impairment/Deaf

Induction Loop System – regrettably no facilities at this time

Visual Impairment/Blind

From the 2011 season there will an audio description service available for supporters with a visual impairment. This involves a live feed, by RNIB trained commentators, via special transmitters in the ground, which will broadcast to the supporter in the stadium.
Please contact the stadium office before the game to book your audio system.

Guide Dogs

Visually impaired and blind supporters who use a guide dog can use any of spaces allocated or designated for wheelchair supporters that are available in the stand. The guide dog user can use the seat/space and the guide dog can use the wheelchair space.

Toilets

The stadium offers 2 unisex wheelchair accessible toilets (disabled toilets) one at each viewing area.

Disability Awareness

The provision of good access and facilities goes a lone way to improving the experience for disabled supports, but the lack of understanding or consideration is sometimes a bigger barrier. As a result we have arranged for all of our stewards to receive a Disability Awareness Guide as part of their mandatory training.

We also intend to offer the ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ scheme next year, where disabled fans who wish to attend games, but who do not have a carer, will be assigned a ‘buddy’ who will help them attend. More details to follow.

Regular Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Disabled Supporters Association meetings take place quarterly.

Corporate Facilities

Corporate hospitality lounges and the Sponsors hospitality suites are not fully accessible for those in wheelchairs, although the ground floor is, through access via a ramp. Unfortunately the 1st, 2nd & 3rd floors would only be accessible for those with a disability, who are able to walk.

Ticket Prices

Disabled supporters are encouraged to pre-book tickets as soon as possible prior to game day. The cost of the match day ticket also covers the cost of the carer ticket, so a disabled supporter will be given another ticket for their carer.

Concessions are available for OAP and students.

Ticket prices range from £10-£20.

Hospitality

Dine in style with our luxurious pre-match packages available, see hospitality page on Wakefield Trinity Wildcats website. Ground floor accessible, however there are no lifts to other floors – regrettably the hosp suites are not accessible to all disabled, but the walking disabled should be able to access the other floors.
