Kirmond was installed as the permanent captain of the Wakefield Wildcats on June 7th 2012, just months after his arrival from Huddersfield Giants. The back-rower was initially handed the honour to be vice-captain of the side but impressed head coach Richard Agar so much he was promoted to be the full-time captain.

‘Kirmo’ signed from Huddersfield Giants where he made a name for himself making over 50 appearances in the claret and gold. The former Featherstone man is no stranger to Trinity after spending part of the 2010 season at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium on-loan from the Giants.

The 28-year-old has previously played on the wing for Rovers before settling down in the forward pack. A product of the successful Stanley Rangers junior set-up, Kirmond knows how much the club means to the local community.

Kirmond was named in the 2013 Super League Dream Team, the only player to make the select XIII from outside the top eight clubs.

He signed a new contract in June 2013 keeping him at the club until 2016.

Since then Kirmond has continued to impress in the Trinity colours. He made his 100th Super League Wildcats appearance in the win over Leeds Rhinos at Headingley on Easter Monday 2016.
