Matty Ashurst signed for the Wildcats for the 2015 season on a two-year deal from Salford Red Devils.
The Wigan born forward started his career with St Helens, making his debut against future club Salford in Saints’ 38-12 win in round 5 of 2009. In three years in Merseyside, Ashurst played 60 times for the ‘Red-V’ of St Helens dotting down 10 times for tries in that time.
Upon leaving St Helens, Matty signed for Greater Manchester side Salford City Reds. In a further three years of his career, the second-row played 75 times for the Red Devils scoring 12 tries.
Ashurst has so far played 19 games for Trinity in his stay at Belle Vue, including eight this term.
