Anchor Vehicle Hire Provide Learning Zone with New Mini-Bus

The Wildcats Community Trust and Anchor Vehicle Hire in Wakefield have come together to provide a newly branded mini-bus.



Between 300 and 400 young people will be transported to and from the Wildcats Learning Zone in the course of the academic year for after school classes run by Learning Zone Manager Mark Winder and his dedicated team.

The Learning Zone is situated at the heart of Wakefield’s Hearwell Stadium and is approaching the end of its third successful year where young children between the ages of 9 and 14 spend 20 hours every half-term developing their key skills in literacy, numeracy and I.C.T.

Over 40 schools in the local area are connected to the Learning Zone which is one of the centres for the governments ‘Playing for Success’ scheme.

The ‘Playing for Success’ initiative contributes towards the Government’s Children’s Plan which reinforces the message that learning outside school hours can help close the attainment gap; can personalise and make learning fun; and ultimately help young people fulfil their potential.

“We have had a good relationship with Anchor in the past and this cements that,” said Learning Zone Manager Mark Winder.

“The mini-bus now has a far more professional look which echoes the high standard of learning children are receiving in the Learning Zone.”

Community Trust Manager Davidé Longo added: “The work the club does in the community continues to go from strength to strength, and the newly branded mini-bus helps to enhance our professionalism in this area even further.”
