Richard Owen signed for the Wildcats from neighbours Castleford Tigers mid-way through the 2014 Super League campaign, making his debut in round 14 away at Warrington.
Owen started his career with the Tigers, making his debut for the black and amber as a 16 year old in Castleford’s 2007 Championship season. On their return to Super League, Owen continued to impress making 24 appearances and scoring 13 times in 2008.
2010 was a low point in his career as Owen suffered a badly broken leg against Bradford in round 3 and didn’t feature for the Tigers until half-way through Castleford’s 2011 Super League season.
After finding holding down a starting spot difficult under Daryl Powell, Owen decided to make the short journey over to the Wildcats.
Owen has made 32 Trinity appearances in his time at the club. He is now spending time on loan from Wakefield at Championship high-flyers Leigh Centurions.
