Tom Johnstone has great potential and played for Stanningley Juniors rugby club.
A pupil of Pudsey Grangefield School, Tom has previously represented Leeds sprinting team at Indoor athletics. With his dad being in the army at the time, Tom was born in Germany and thanks his family for supporting him through his rugby league career so far.
Tom has always stood out wherever he has been and won many awards during his time at Stanningley. Jarryd Hayne is a player that Tom aspires to be and he wants to be and he wants to one day play international rugby.
Tom Johnstone is a product of the continuing success of the Wildcats youth system. After a short loan spell at local rivals Featherstone Rovers, Johnstone made his debut in the defeat at Wigan in round 7, 2015.
The winger went on to make 12 Super League appearances in 2015 for the Wildcats managing a credible nine tries in the process, including a double in the Super League’s Magic Weekend event.
Johnstone has already featured in eight of the Wildcats opening eight games of the 2016 season. His highlight so far was contributing two tries in the 36-22 win over the Giants, including a try of the season contender.
